With this context, Alliance Medical has established an independent Medical Advisory Board (MAB) to concentrate on clinical quality and specific strategic clinical issues. The MAB also covers key issues which have been escalated from the local country clinical governance boards where Alliance Medical operates. In discussing specific strategic issues in addition to their consultative role, the MAB is able to encourage participation from others, experts in their field, to contribute to their meetings and in providing advice to the Group Board. The MAB has three key functions:-

• Providing advice on Alliance Medical Group Strategy - advisory role
• Commenting on advice developed by others - consultative role
• Alerting Alliance Medical Group to issues which are likely to be important in the future for imaging services - monitoring role

The appointment of the MAB is a significant development in the transformation of Alliance Medical and will drive new clinical points of view across the organisation and ensure new levels of clinical leadership. This new Board is a key priority for the organisation and as well as the MAB providing thought leadership to the organisation this team of Radiologists are internationally renowned, members of the ECR / RSNA and are experts in their field.
