Alliance Medical Italy have launched a new initiative called Onco Lab which is a joint project between the European Institute of Oncology in Milan and Alliance Medical. The purpose is to promote health and well-being and help generate a culture of prevention and diagnosis of tumours.

The scientific collaboration between Alliance Medical and IEO will be inaugurated with the event (CME accredited) to be held Friday, January 27, 2012 18.00 hours at the Diamond Hotel in Alexandria: "Anticipating the diagnosis of breast and lung cancer." IEO will be presented by the Scientific Director Prof. Umberto Veronesi and specialists in the lung and breast cancer, Massimo Bellomi, Dr. Giulia Veronesi and Dr. Di Brunella.

The first Alliance Medical Centre where Onco Lab will be established is the historic Centocannoni Radiological Study, who are co-organisers of the conference. Founded in the 1980s and owned by Alliance Medical since 2004, the company is a reference centre for diagnostics. Centocannoni Radiology Diagnostic Imaging of excellence provides medical imaging for the entire province of Alexandria, thanks to the expertise of its professionals, to-date technology and a wide range of modalities.

Due to the sophisticated technology available at the centre, there is a specific focus on detection and disease prevention. Specifically the team have expertise in diagnosing cancers of the breast, colon, rectum, prostate, endometrial and lung in women.

Early diagnosis and monitoring of the progress of treatment and disease are the key areas of the project which Onco Lab will focus on and with Aliance Medical, will provide patients with accurate information on the prevention of cancer.

• Cancer of the prostate
• Lung Cancer
• Gynecological Cancer

Early diagnosis is the indispensable tool available today to improve survival and reduce the clinical impact of cancer.
