Our Growth

1989

Alliance Medical was founded in 1989 to provide medical imaging services in the UK.

1994

We set up our first independent static MRI unit in 1994.

2004

First UK diagnostic centre and NHS contract. We expand into Italy and Spain.

2006

We expand into the Netherlands and Germany.

2013

We move into radiopharmaceuticals, and become the only integrated molecular imaging service in the UK.

2014

We win the bid to provide more than 50 percent of NHS PET-CT scans in the UK.

2016

Life Healthcare Group acquire Alliance Medical Group.

2017

We invest £80 million on additional static PET-CT sites across the UK. These replace the use of mobile scanners, delivering an improved patient experience and capacity to patients.

2017

We establish a European Radiopharmacy business through the acquisition of Eckert and Zegler Radiopharmacies, with sites in Germany, Austria and Poland.

2018

We opened our first Comminutiy Diagnostic Centre in the UK, The Turner Centre, a first of its kind, state-of-the-art multimodality Diagnostic Centre.

2020

Mobile Medical Plus launched in partnership with Expandable Healthcare. First of its kind solution to deliver mobile MRI which expands into a relocatable advanced patient and staff experience

2020

The first UK Digital PET CT centre is built by Alliance Medical at Sidcup.

2021

We further expanded our Radiopharmcy network, acquiring ZAG Zyklotron AG in Germany

2023

Alliance Medical UK awarded Investors in People Gold accreditation

2023

Alliance Medical awarded Public Private Partnership of the Year by Laing Buisson

2023

Altakassusi Alliance Medical awarded the first private public partnership (PPP) in Saudi Arabian healthcare sector.

2024

iCON Infrastructure completes the acqusition of Alliance Medical
